His pictures, whether they reflect cosmogonic
explosions, recreate age-old myths, or refer to human situations,
sum up the experiences of the past and initiate a personal dialogue with
the present. At the same time they also create the sensation of a bottomless
void which is at once attractive and repulsive, for in these pictures one
may, if one wishes, read something about one' s deeper self. If the ultimate
aim of a work of art is to lead to a deeper understanding of ourselves,
Kilessopoulos' work challenges us to strive to get to know ourselves and
to embark on a personal quest for the meaning of freedom.
