In Kilessopoulos' work there is a synthesis  between two impulses: the intellectual inclination to arrange and plan the design, and the emotional directness, the almost living presence of colour.
In the history of Modern Greek Art this work constitutes an almost unique quest to combine these two qualities, precisely though the realization of each individual subject: in the process the artist does not transform these elements into a means of expressing external subject; on the contrary, he uses the elements themselves as the theme of his design.
